2010  National  Rhodesian  Ridgeback  Show
Adelaide, 1 & 2 May 2010
Judge:  Mr Greg Eva (South Africa) {President, Kennel Union of South Africa}
The weather was fantastic, the company was great and a good time was had by all.  My thanks to all those that congratulated us on our wins on the day and afterwards by way of email, text, phone calls, etc.  There has only been one negative response by the way of an attempt to belittle my dogs wins and degrade the judge but I guess you get sour grapes when your dogs are just so good!  Just to set the record straight there were 141 breed entries - there have been 9 Nationals to date in Australia of which 3 others have had smaller entries than the 2010 National (so the 2010 was not the smallest entry for a National to date as has already tried to be intimated elsewhere) and of the 9 Nationals already held there have been at least 2 other Nationals without Breeder Specialists judges.  Mr Greg Eva has the distinction of being the President of the Kennel Union of South Africa and has also been heavily involved with the re-writing of the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed standard so has an intimate knowledge of the breed.

We had 4 Usakose RR's exhibited at this years National and they accounted for:

Best Exhibit in Show; Runner Up Best Exhibit in Show; Best Headed Dog; Best Headed Bitch, a 3rd in class and a 5th in class.  This is the first time in the history of National breed shows in Australia that Best Exhibit in Show has been won by a Queensland bred dog.  It is also the first time in the history of the National breed shows in Australia that Best Exhibit in Show and Runner Up Best Exhibit in Show have been won by a litter brother and sister and the same breeder has breed them which would account for the reason that Usakose also won .........
